Texas Holdem Poker Rules
Next, the dealer burns, or discards the top card of the deck, and then proceeds to deal the first three community cards, which are dealt on the table, face up. Then, of course, comes the second round of betting. The dealer then deals an additional community card, which is called the "turn". Then another round of betting takes place. The fifth community card, called the "river" is dealt, and the final round of betting takes place. Then, each player must try to make the best hand that he can from the hole cards and the community cards.
Betting in Texas Hold'em is a some what tender subject. Experts warn us that in most cases, you cannot win with anything else than a pair of Aces. It is recommended that you drop out if your two hole cards are lower than a pair of queens, and the community cards have not given you any leverage. The best starting hands in Texas Hold'em Poker are a pair of Aces, Kings, Queens or Jacks. If you are lucky enough to get a high pair, then you should stay in the game at least until the fourth community card is uncovered. With a pair of Aces of Kings, you should ply that hand, regardless of what the community cards show. If you get a pair of Queens of Jacks, then you should stay in the game until the fourth card is uncovered, and then quit if you hand has not improved since then.
