Jacks or Better Video Poker
Jacks or Better Video Poker is one basic variety of the wildly popular alternative to countless Poker fans. Jacks or Better drew many fans mainly because it is played based on the general Poker rules with just a few exceptions.
As with any other Video Poker game, the goal of a Jacks or Better player must be to obtain a winning hand from a five-card draw. Every hand is equated with a corresponding payout. You can see the ranking of the hands at the pay table prominently placed at the top part of the screen.
The Rules:
As with all Video Poker games, the Royal Flush is the highest paying hand in Jacks or Better. That means, if you get a hand of a 10 combined with a Jack, a Queen, a King, and an Ace, you will be entitled to the highest payout available. Getting the highest payout depends, of course, on the coin size that you bet on that particular session. If you bet the maximum, you naturally get the highest payout. In Jacks or Better, the highest coin amount that you can win is 4,000. If you bet the maximum of 5 coins, you win 4,000 coins for a Royal Flush but if you only wager 1 coin, you only win 250 coins for the same hand.
What is unique about Jacks or Better is its consideration of a hand with a pair of Jacks or any better valued card as a winning hand. A Jacks or Better hand pays 1:1, which is not bad at all. In gambling, any amount that you can win is welcome.
How to Play
To start a game of Jacks or Better, you must enter a specific amount of bet. After that, you hit the Deal button for the machine to deal you with five face up cards. With those cards, you devise a strategy how you can obtain the best hand possible. You may choose to discard any of your cards to be replaced by fresh new ones. After the hold/discard process, which happens only once during the entire game, your current hand is evaluated. If it is entitled to a payout, as based on the pay table, you win. If it is not, you lose your bet. Once you place another bet, you are ready for another game. That's how simple Jacks or Better is played. You need not to crack any codes to learn to play it for your enjoyment.
