Introduction to Texas Holdem
Texas hold'em poker is among the most popular of the variants of poker. It is the game that is most played in the casinos, and contrary to popular belief, it is a much easier game that many people realize. However, be aware that before you begin to play the game for money, be sure that you know what you are doing. It takes a lifetime of hard studying in order to be ready for the games in the casinos, where you may fall upon players who are much better than you.
The basic rules of Texas Hold'em Poker are relatively simple. The person to the left of the dealer makes a small bet, called the small blind, while the person to his left pays a large blind. The dealer, who is designated by the "dealer button", deals two cards to each player. These are called the "hole" cards. They are dealt face down. The first round of betting then takes place, and each player may call, raise or fold.
